At least, three teams have qualified for the Round of 16 at the ongoing Euro 2024, after picking the maximum six points from two fixtures.

Portugal became the latest team to book their spot after they hammered Turkey 3-0 on Saturday.

A 21st-minute goal from Bernardo Silva was followed seven minutes later by an unfortunate Samet Akaydin’s own goal.

Cristiano Ronaldo then set up Bruno Fernandes to make it 3-0.

Host nation Germany became the first team to qualify for the round of 16 after its 2-0 win against Hungary.

Julian Nagelsmann’s men opened its campaign with a 5-1 win against Scotland and reached the next round as Group A topper.

Spain was the second team to book its place in the Round of 16 as Group B winner after a 1-0 win against defending champion Italy. La Roja started its campaign with a 3-0 win against Croatia.

    Schick overtakes Ronaldo

Meanwhile, Czech Republic striker Patrik Schick on Saturday overtook the goal record of both Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Kane in the last two European championships.

Schick achieved the feat after scoring a goal in his side’s 1-1 draw against Georgia at the ongoing Euro 2024 in Germany.

Schick’s equaliser came just before the hour mark after Georgia had taken a surprise lead in first-half.

Georges Mikautadze’s penalty gave Georgia the lead in Hamburg before Schick restored parity.

However, according to Sofascore, Schick is now the player with the most goals at the last two Euros, breaking a tie with Ronaldo and Kane.

The 28-year-old has scored six goals in the last two Euros, while Ronaldo and Kane both have five goals each.

Ronaldo is yet to score at the ongoing Euro 2024, while Kane has netted one.
