2 US Celebrities Sell Their Houses At $11.25m

Tennis star Serena Williams, Friday last week, sold her Los Angeles house for $8.1 million after listing it for 18 months.

Williams had sought $12 million for the home when it was listed in October 2017, as Mansion Global previously reported. It was last put on the market in January for $9.995 million, according to public listing records.

This is even as Vanessa Hudgens sold her two-storey Mediterranean-style mansion in Los Angeles at $3.15 million on Thursday, said listing agent TJ Paradise of Sotheby’s International Realty.

Although her home was sold for less than its asking price, Williams, 37, did not suffer any loss as she with her sister, Lyndrea Price as the trustee purchased the home at $6.62 million in 2006 under a trust, according to property records.

However, the buying agent Fred Bernstein of Westside Estate Agency could not disclose the buyer is, noting that the buyer had been interested in the home for a while.

“They liked the property—it’s one of the largest lots on Stone Canyon,” he told Mansion Global.

Gregory Piechota and Amit Lalji of Keller Williams Beverly Hills represented Ms. Williams. They did not immediately return a request for comment.

Built in 1935, the 6,101-square-foot house sits on a 2.76-acre lot. It has six bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

The traditional-style home also has a bar, private hiking trails and a swimming pool with a cabana, according to the listing.

Ms. Williams long held the title as the world’s No. 1 female singles player and has won 39 major titles, 23 of which were in singles.

She still lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, and their daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., according to the Los Angeles Times, who first reported the sale.

In a similar development, Vanessa Hudgens has also sold a two-storey, Mediterranean-style mansion in Los Angeles at $3.15 million on Thursday, said listing agent TJ Paradise of Sotheby’s International Realty.

She had owned the mansion for a decade and sold it in less than two months.

Ms. Hudgens, 30, put her spacious, hillside house in Studio City up for sale in mid-February, Mansion Global exclusively reported at the time, and found a buyer within weeks.

“Vanessa was a great seller,” Mr. Paradise said. “We spent a lot of time prepping for the market, and it was in excellent condition.”

The actress bought the six-bedroom home when she was only 20 years old, at the apex of her breakout role in the “High School Musical” franchise, and added her personal touch over the following 10 years.

Ms. Hudgens drew from Moorish inspiration to decorate, complementing the Spanish-style architecture with hanging metal lanterns and repainting the stucco exterior in crisp white, her listing agent, TJ Paradise of Sotheby’s International Realty, previously told Mansion Global.

Moorish details start from the front step where elaborately carved wooden doors open into the foyer, with stone-tile floors inlaid with Spanish tile accents. The entryway leads through a tented arch and into a second atrium with a grand spiral staircase.

The first floor spans multiple living rooms and a large open kitchen with sage-painted cabinets and its own informal dining space.

The second story encompasses the bedrooms and an office. In the master suite, a double-sided fireplace separates the bedroom from a sitting room, where Ms. Hudgens has decorated a wall in miniature carved female figures.
