The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has zoned the 2023 presidency to the Southern region, Governor Nasir El-rufai of Kaduna State announced.
El-rufai stated this Tuesday in an interview with State House correspondents after a meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and the 22 APC governors.
According to the governor, the ruling party has also zoned its party National Chairmanship to the North, adding that the decisions were approved by the President.

The Kaduna governor stated that the President and the governors agreed on the zoning formula for all the six geopolitical zones ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Alhaji Atiku Bagudu, Governor of Kebbi State, said the President is disposed to the emergence of a consensus candidate and believes this would be in the interest of the party,
Bagudu added that other aspirants who have indicated interest in the contest are also competent and qualified to occupy the office of national chairman.
The governors unanimously agreed that zoning and consensus should be incorporated as part of arrangements for the national convention.
