Addressing the beneficiaries at a brief send forth ceremony in his office at the National Assembly complex, Abuja, Idem provided them with financial support, urging them to be good Ambassadors of the state and country.
The Ukanafun-born parliamentarian told them that everything they need to be comfortable in the United Kingdom has been provided, charging them to take their studies seriously.
According to him, their school fees, accommodation, feeding, ticket to and from the United Kingdom, and other sundry expenses have been taken care of, adding ‘‘So I expect them to study and come out as the very best, to make me proud, make Akwa Ibom state proud and ultimately, make Nigeria proud, as ambassadors in the United Kingdom.
The Chairman on the House Committee on Public Procurement ‘‘intimated them that the programme allows them to take up part time jobs at their convenience, so it is up to them to make good use of this opportunity.’’
As part of developing our state, he urged the beneficiaries to see the opportunity as one to gain the necessary knowledge and exposure needed for their self development and the transformation of Akwa Ibom state, urging them to bear in mind that they will come back and also train others.
Responding, the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to him for giving them the opportunity to study abroad, noting that it is life-changing, promising to make him, the state and country proud.
Meanwhile, the beneficiaries had already arrived and settled for their studies in the United Kingdom.
