The 10 void votes garnered by Governor Udom Emmanuel did not stop him from emerging the consensus Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate for Akwa Ibom governorship race in the forthcoming general elections.
Emmanuel who was the sole aspirant scored 3,807 in the Sunday primary made a field day as an overall winner.
Ayo Fayose, who was Chairman of PDP governorship primary election in Akwa Ibom State, announced that the accredited voters were 3,830, valid votes – 3,807 while void votes stood at 10.
Fayose who is also the outgoing Ekiti State governor commended the voters for conducting themselves in an orderly and peaceful during the nomination exercise, and declared Mr. Emmanuel, winner of the poll.
