Rivers State wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC), President Muhammadu Buhari’s party, is coming alive again after it suffered a major political setback in the 2019 elections.

The inner-circle actors of the opposition party in Rivers State that is dominated by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have started to regroup to enable them to plan better for the 2023 elections.

The upbeat in APC is coming as some of its front chieftains and loyalists of Transportation Minister, Chibuike Amaechi, are currently grabbing juicy federal appointments slated for the big oil and gas state.

Elated party insider and Amaechi’s political associate, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, is full of praises for President Buhari and his principal, the transportation minister, for making it all possible for the party in the state to be agog with joy.

Eze says President Buhari and Amaechi found the favoured APC chiefs “worthy to serve the country at this trying time’’ and accordingly expressed believe in their ability to produce results within record time.

Amaechi loyalists are sitting in the boards of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, (NIMASA), Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) and the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) with Mrs. Caroline Nagbo, as a member.

Mrs. Nagbo is a grassroots mobiliser and former APC Women Leader in Rivers.

While a former federal legislator and Rivers APC 2015 Deputy Governorship Candidate, Asita Honourable, is atop NIMASA as its Chairman, a former state lawmaker and ex-Admin Secretary of President Buhari’s Campaign Office, Onari Brown, is NPA’s Executive Director, Marine and Operations.

Furthermore, Muhammed Bello Koko, a seasoned banker is the Executive Director, Finance, at the NPA.

The boards of NIMASA and NPA were inaugurated by Amaechi on Thursday, May 21, 2020.

In a statement wired to this reporter on Thursday, Eze said the juicy appointments are coming at a time APC players “are losing hope in the system,’’ pointing out that it has brought a ray of hope to members that with patience one day they will be remembered also.

Describing Asita as an exceptional gentleman who was born with royal blood and named Honourable from birth with a comparatively right and sound frame of mind and perception, Eze said, he is abundantly endowed with a good sense of quality leadership and expressed confidence in his capacity to deliver on the mandate of building on the gains and achievements of the past leadership of NIMASA.

Commending Onari Brown, he said his credentials and antecedents speak of his unwavering commitment towards the development of society for the good of humanity. ‘’He is a man whose compassion and love for humanity is infections, I am convinced that he will surely make his impact felt in this task,’’ Eze says.

While he described Koko as endowed with the rare capability of ensuring prudent management of funds for optimum results being a seasoned and renowned banker, Eze said Mrs. Nagbo is a woman who has shown genuine commitment in the struggle for a better and greater Rivers.

He is also urging the appointees to be result-oriented and use their appointments judiciously for the service of man and humanity and the achievement of the greater good.
