More than 20 people have allegedly been murdered in a fresh attack while several others sustained various degrees of injuries in fresh attacks on three communities in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Channels Television reports.

The attack occurred earlier on Thursday and was said to have been carried out by suspected militia.

The attacked communities are Kurmin Masara, Apyia Shyim, and Takmawai.

This happened a few days after security agencies were deployed to the vulnerable communities of the state.

The Chairman of Zango Kataf Local Government Area, Elias Manza told Channels Television that the gunmen, who are suspected to be Fulani militia, invaded the villages in the early hours of Thursday morning, and shot indiscriminately at peoples houses.

The television station quoted the LGA Chairman as saying that seven people were killed in Takmawai while 13 others were killed in Kurmin Masara in what seems like a coordinated attack.

He said that several houses were burnt down while residents fled from their homes to neigbouring villages for fear of more attacks.
