Following a new wave of COVID-19, six new deaths were recorded in the country from the pandemic on Saturday, according to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
Also, the country recorded 920 new confirmed cases from 17 states including Federal Capital Territory.
Of the number, Lagos State still leads with 308 new infections, trailed by FCT and Kaduna State with 207 and 179 cases respectively.
In its Twitter, NCDC wrote “On the 19th of December 2020, 920 new confirmed cases and 6 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.
“The 920 new cases are reported from 18 states- Lagos (308), FCT (207), Kaduna (179), Plateau (46), Niger (43), Adamawa (26), Sokoto (18), Rivers (16), Yobe (15), Enugu (13), Kano (13), Ogun (12), Delta (10), Edo (5), Osun (3), Oyo (3), Anambra (2), and Ekiti (1).”
The health agency tweeted “Till date, 77,933 cases have been confirmed, 67,784 cases have been discharged and 1,218 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
“A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities.”
