COVID-19 continues to wreck more havocs in Nigeria by snatching away 12 persons in one day.
A total of 1,270 confirmed cases were recorded on Tuesday, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control reported.
Of the number recorded in 21 states including Federal Capital Territory, Lagos State recorded 435 cases, the highest number while FCT and Oyo got 234 and 103 of the pandemic.
NCDC tweeted on Tuesday, ”On the 12th of January 2021, 1270 new confirmed cases and 12 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.
”The 1270 new cases are reported from 22 states- Lagos (435), FCT (234), Oyo (103), Plateau (86), Rivers (71), Enugu (51), Nasarawa (41), Delta (39), Edo (39), Osun (33), Niger (31), Sokoto (23), Ondo (16), Taraba (13), Ebonyi (12), Kano (10), Abia (9), Bayelsa (8), Bauchi (7), Imo (5), Katsina (3) and Gombe (1).’’
On the number of caseloads, it wrote ”Till date, 102601 cases have been confirmed, 81574 cases have been discharged and 1373 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
”A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC) activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities.’’
The health agency stated ”Average number of daily #COVID19 cases in the first week of Jan. 2021, was higher than cases recorded in last week of Dec. 2020#TakeResponsibility to protect yourself & those around you.
”Our discharges today include 144 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines.’’
