Nigeria Centre for Disease Control says 26 persons in Akwa Ibom State were discharged on Friday, bringing total number of persons discharged so far to 520.
This is as the state has recorded 18 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, bringing the total confirmed cases to 807.
In the same vein, Nigeria recorded 1,114 new cases and 27 deaths.
On its official Twitter, NCDC wrote ‘’On the 29th of January 2021, 1114 new confirmed cases and 27 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.
A breakdown shows ”The 1114 new cases are reported from 22 states- Lagos (408), FCT (95), Plateau (90), Ondo (66), Kaduna (63), Oyo (56), Borno (46), Imo (42), Edo (41), Ogun (37).’’
Others are ”Rivers (31), Ekiti (25), Yobe (20), Kano (18), Akwa Ibom (18), Delta (15), Osun (15), Kwara (11), Bayelsa (6), Nasarawa (6), Zamfara (4) and Bauchi (1).’’
According to the public health agency ”Till date, 128,674 cases have been confirmed, 102,780 cases have been discharged and 1,577 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
”A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC) activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities.”
‘’713 community recoveries in Lagos State, 124 in Plateau State & 118 in Kaduna state,’’ it added.
