The common saying that every disappointment is a blessing in disguise holds water for the 11-year-old boy allegedly abused in Deeper Life High School, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The despicable case of Don-Davis N. Archibong was brought to the public domain by his distraught mother who broke the ugly news on via live Facebook video.
In the video, Deborah Okezie (his mother) explained how his son who went to the boarding school as a chubby boy, returned home almost a skeleton as a result of abuse and other ill treatments meted to him by some of the school’s senior students, and some staffers of the school.
Based on the weighty allegation, Akwa Ibom government set up a committee headed by the then Commissioner for Education, Dr. Iniobong Erasmus Mbobo.
However, Mrs Deborah repulsed the attitude of the committee members because, according to her, some committee members and church members threatened her.
Subsequently, Akwa Ibom government handed over the matter to Akwa Ibom Police Command for handling because it was adjudged a ‘criminal matter.’’
Though the case between Don Davis and Deeper Life High School is still pending in Uyo Magistrate Court, Akwa Ibom State, the young lad has struck a gold.
Few days ago, the mother wrote on his usual Facebook page that a company known as Resolutions Technology has signed Don Davis Archibong as their brand ambassador.
Resolution Technology is a merchant firm that allows customers to pay bills, buy mobile phone airtime & data, among others on the internet.
Davis’ mother equally reviewed that the CEO of the company, Mr. Faithful Samuel, also gave scholarship to her son.
Her post ”With great joy in my heart, I want to inform all my friends the world over that Mr. Faithful Samuel, CEO Resolution Technologies has signed my son Don-Davis as Brand Ambassador of Resolution Technologies and has also given Don-Davis scholarship. May God bless the CEO.’’
