Sympathisers could not control their tears as ambulance chauffeured in and swiftly off loaded three coffins for burial.
In the coffins were the remains of Comrade Silas Gadani Adamu, the Secretary-General of Medical and Health Workers’ Union of Nigeria, his wife and daughter.
The late Adamu, 63; his wife Mercy, 38, and daughter Joyce Kubai, 30, died in a ghastly motor accident along the Kaduna-Abuja Road on Monday, March 8.
A farewell prayer was held on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at his residence in Sabon Tasha GRA, Kaduna at 5 p.m, followed by a candle night trekking on Thursday, March 18.
The corpses left St. Gerard Hospital, Kaduna and arrived at ECWA English Service at Sabon Tasha, Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna at 8.45 a.m. on Friday, March 19.
Internment followed immediately after the funeral service at his plot, located close to his house at Sabon GRA, Kaduna.
The interment was climaxed with dust-to-dust rite performed by ECWA ministers at the graveyard of the departed.
Recall that Adamu was said to be driving with his wife Mrs. Silas Adamu and daughter Joyce Kubai Adamu, when their vehicle rammed into a truck parked along the Kaduna-Abuja Road.
His friends and family members have taken to social media to express shock at his passing.
Senator Shehu Adamu while reacting to the sad news via his Twitter handle, wrote ”Comrade Silas Adamu, his wife and daughter died in a road accident along Kaduna Abuja road yesterday. He ran into a truck.
”He was the Secretary General of the NMA and the President of the Southern Kaduna based Atyap Community Development Association. A great loss. RIP.
