Imo Governor Hope Uzodinma Tuesday shed tears over the destruction of lives and properties in Izombe community, Oguta Local Government Area of the state.

Uzodinma said he could not hold back his tears on seeing the dead bodies and properties destroyed in the community.

A clash between the military and a group led by a suspected Owerri prison escapee, Obele led to the loss of lives and properties in the community.

Obele was said to have died during the clash, while two other soldiers also lost their lives.

However, Uzodinma, who visited the community to see the damages, said God would punish those responsible for the incident.
According to Uzodinma: “I am shedding tears. I am shedding tears because the properties of my brothers and sisters suffered to built were burnt.
“I would not have been a Senator without the kind of support I got from Izombe.
“I take Izombe as Omuma, my home town. It is painful that after all our sufferings, struggle and God answered our prayer, this happened.
“Instead of us continuing to see blessings, we are seeing obstacles. God will punish those behind all these things happening.”
However, a video had surfaced showing the moment a Nigerian army commander ordered his troops to kill anyone seen in Izombe, Oguta LGA of Imo State.
The shocking video has sparked outrage on social media.
The video shared by Voiceoftheeast captured the moment an army commander during a recent raid in Oguta LGA, Imo State ordered his troops to kill anyone seen.
There were growing security threats from Nigeria’s Southeast region of the country.
According to viral reports, over 20 police stations, correctional facilities have been targeted by the gunmen, leaving in their trail dead officers, charred police stations, freed prison inmates, and empty armoury.
All of these incidents were reported to have occurred  from January to September of 2021.
