The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has admonished congregation not to cry for the late Rev Obiora Ezekiel of the Christian Pentecostal Mission, CPM.

Adeboye who preached the sermon at the funeral service of Rev. Ezekiel, CPM General Overseer held at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos on Friday, March 25, said the departed clergyman was in Heaven.

“Don’t cry for him. He is already in heaven. Cry for yourself if you have not made your way right before God,” he said.

Adeboye said the last time he visited Ezekiel, whom he described as his friend was two days before his call to glory, it was obvious his friend was ready to go.

“I knew he was going. How did I know? The last time I visited my friend, I greeted him, my friend, good morning. He replied, good morning sir. How are you today?

”No answer. Is there anything you want me to pray for? No answer. For the period I spent there, he didn’t say a word. At one point, he held my hand, as if to say, can you hear what I am hearing? Can you see what I am seeing? It took him time to let go of my hand.

The remains of the founding General Overseer of Christian Pentecostal Mission,  were later committed to mother earth.

Ezekiel, the founding father of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, died in November 19, 2021 at the age of 79.

Among personalities at the occasion were Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and Wife of Lagos State Governor, Ibijoke.

Top ministers at the funeral included Rev. Tunde Bakare,  Rev (Dr) Uma Ukpai, Mike Okonkwo, Felix Omobude, and Bishop Ema Isong.

The burial will be rounded off with a thanksgiving service on March 27, 2022 at CPM National/International Headquarters, Ajao Estate, Lagos and all CPM churches worldwide.
