Some nurses in a private hospital in Lagos State are in trouble as the state government is investigating their unprofessional conduct the death of a reality TV star, Patrick Fakoya, aka Rico Swavey.

Swavey, Big Brother Naija star, was involved in a motor accident that later claimed his life while some nurses were videotaping instead of attending to his health.

A 30-second viral video is showing some nurses at a hospital in Lagos State being lackadaisical with their duties while Rico was in a critical condition has sparked outrage on social media.

In the clip, Rico Swavey was seen on a chair. While one of the nurses called for help to put him on a stretcher, others were laid back even as one of them chuckled as he was filming.

One of the nurses was heard cautioning her colleague against the act.

“You people should stop making the video; somebody is dying, you people are making video,” the nurse said.

The video has been widely condemned by many Nigerians.

Reacting to the public outcry, Gbenga Omotoso, the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, said the state government had commenced an investigation.

”That hospital is not a government hospital. We have started an investigation into the unprofessional conducts of those who appeared in that video,” he said.

Meanwhile, Swavey’s girlfriend, Caroline, has opened up on his death from injuries he sustained after a motor accident.

Sharing their loved-up videos on Instagram, Caroline recalled how excited Rico was when she agreed to become his girlfriend.

She also stated that reality show star was planning to relocate to the United States before his death.
