Toothless Barcelona are out of the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League (UCL) following Inter Milan’s comprehensive victory over Victoria Plzen on Wednesday.

Barcelona have been humiliated and humbled for the second straight season in the Champions League, after Inter beat Viktoria Plzen to confirm their place in the knockout stages.

The Catalans knew their fate before filing out for their game against Bayern Munich.

Xavi and his boys had been hoping for a miracle at the San Siro with anything but an Inter victory needed to keep their UCL hope alive.

However, a brace from Edin Dzeko complemented by strikes from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Romelu Lukaku condemned Barcelona to the Europa League.

It then got worse for Barcelona as Bayern walloped them 3-0 to aggravate the downfall of the Spanish giants.

Goals from Sadio Mane, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Benjamin Pavard completed the Bavarians’ double over the Catalans for the second year on a bounce.

In another match of the day, Atletico Madrid were also eliminated from the completion after a disappointing 2-2 draw against Bayer Leverkusen at the Metropolitano.

The Rojiblancos are four points behind FC Porto, who are second in the group, with just one game to go.

Liverpool thumped Ajax 3-0 to keep the pressure on the impeccable Napoli, who defeated Rangers by the same scoreline, for the battle for group A top spot.
