A Non-Governmental Organization has doled out multi-millions of Naira in support of the victory of Pastor Umo Eno as Akwa Ibom governor, and empowerment of individuals and rural communities in the South-South and South-East Regions of the country.
At a press briefing in Uyo on Friday, the International Coordinator of Prince Archibong Life Foundation, Mr. Uduakobong Akpan said this was part of the philanthropic gestures the organization has given to individuals, groups and communities in both regions over the years.
Akpan highlighted achievements by the organisation to mark Governor Eno’s victory at the polls and subsequent inauguration to include provision of N50,000 agricultural grant to each of the 150 women in the state, donation of cars and motorcycles to indigenes of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, provision of boreholes in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District and giving each of the 150 women agricultural grant of N50,000 all in support of Pastor Umo Eno’s governorship election.
Others were awarding scholarship to two students- one offering Medicine & Surgery and another, Accounting in the University of Uyo at the Governor’s thanksgiving service at the Believer’s Assembly international Headquarters, Uyo and scholarship award to two secondary school students from JSS 1 to SS3 including NECO & WAEC fees in memory of Eno’s birthday in All Nation Christian Ministry international in Eket.
The foundation, he said, further gave 10 widows of All Nation Christian Assembly N50,000 grant each in support of their businesses, and provided free forms in 2024 JAMB to 100 students also in support of Eno administration.
In complementing Pastor Umo Eno’s Victory Thanksgiving Service on 02 April, 2023 at Believer’s Assembly International Headquarters, Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo, he said the body sponsored free buses during the 2023 Governorship Campaign, donated 300 campaign face cap to Pst. Eno during his campaign.
Akpan said they embarked on unit-to-unit Campaign tour in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District in support of Pastor Umo Eno Governorship election and all the PDP candidates and gave each widow N50,000 business grant in support of Gov Eno’s victory at the 2023 polls.
‘‘It is worthy to note that the Foundation is proud to identify with the Governor on his First Year Anniversary and to echo that indeed the commitment of the Foundation on the Governor is well interpreted as the Governor has justified the confidence reposed on him by over million voters in the State.’’
The organization has empowered more than 1,000 Nigerians both in Akwa Ibom State and other states in the South South geopolitical zone.
Akpan, who was flanked by Deputy International President, Mr. Uwem Bernard and National Secretary, Osita Nwoli of the NGO, said the foundation awarded scholarships to about 300 indigent students in the tertiary institutions, and paid study grants to other students.
The foundation, he noted, made financial donations to the most vulnerable women in the rural communities to support their businesses and maintain their families, and provided agricultural support to farmers.
‘‘Other interventions from the Foundation include donation of food stuff, wrappers to women, provision of basic amenities like borehole, facilitated electricity supply, provided street lights to some communities as well as gave special cash support scheme to widows and the vulnerable persons in the society.’’
In addition, Akpan said the foundation has donated cars and motorcycles to youth support groups, individuals, churches agencies, among others.
Apart, the International Coordinator announced that the Foundation supported Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno’s GIFA programme, assuring that the foundation would do more for the project in line with His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno’s A.R.I.S.E agenda.
The NGO donated sanitizers during COVID-19 to the people of Ikot Ekpene Federal constituency,and visited IDP Camp in Essien Udim with relief materials such as bags of rice and cartons of indomie during the crises in 2021.
