The Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari, is alleged to be receiving treatment for coronavirus pandemic in London, Straightnews has learned exclusively.
This is contrary to speculation that he was being treated at an undisclosed isolation centre in Lagos.
Kyari, a member of Buhari’s kitchen cabinet, was said to have tested positive for coronavirus and became “very sick” following his official trip to Germany and Egypt.
He was said to have been removed from Abuja to an infectious disease treatment center in Lagos as he reportedly began coughing heavily during a meeting that included, among others, the President and Vice President.
However, Prof. Akin Abayomi, the Commissioner for Health in Lagos State, had said on Tuesday, March 31 that he did not know Kyari’s location, thereby sparking reports that the President’s aide was not in any isolation centre in Lagos.
Before now, Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB Leader, had claimed that Kyari was flown to Cuba for treatment.
But, the online newspaper learned from a source close to Office of the Chief of Staff that he was initially flown to Cuba for treatment, but was later relocated to London following the fact that he has a medical record in London to access for treatment of any ailment.
Kyari is said to have been born in 1938, and had generally been in poor health and has undisclosed health issues that resulted in long periods of hospitalization in London.
