In the current ranking of top-flight African clubs, Egyptian club, Al Ahly, have the best team in the continent with Enyimba, a two-time African champions and Akwa United FC, the 2017 Aiteo Cup winners are the only two Nigerian clubs to join top 50.
Ranked 69th in the world, Al Ahly is also only the African club ranked in the top 100 clubs with European champions Real Madrid leading the pack on the world stage.
Enyimba, however, is Nigeria’s only representative in the top 500 clubs in the world, occupying 470, with Akwa ranked 634, while Lobi Stars and Kano Pillars are ranked 656 and 657, respectively.
