A new police commissioner has been deployed to Akwa Ibom State, Straightnews has learnt.
He is Mr. Bashir Makama, who formerly served as CP in Benue State.
The Plateau State-born Makama will be replacing Musa Kimo who has been promoted to as Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG).
This development is contained in the list of postings for new commissioners of police across the country as approved by the Police Service Commission (PSC), recently.
All newly posted commissioner of police have been directed to resume at their new commands immediately ahead of the 2019 general elections.
CP Egbetokun Kayode whose earlier posting to Lagos was aborted by the IG, was dispatched to Kwara State. The FCT CP, Bala Ciroma, however, retained his position in Abuja.
