Professor Yemi Osinbajo, the country’s Vice President, is said to have collaborated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom to inaugurate two industries in the state as a way of deceiving Nigerians.
Though Osinbajo is All Progressives Party (APC) chieftain, he on invitation of Governor Udom Emmanuel inaugurated Jubilee Syringe Manufactruing Industries and Electric Metering Factory in Onna local government area to mark the 30th creation anniversary of the state last year.
Professor Chris Ekong, who spoke Monday on Planet 101.1FM, Uyo, a private radio station during Team Nigeria, a programme sponsored by Senator Ita Enang, Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly (Senate), described the purported industries as unworkable.
Ekong, who is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Campaign Organisation, ONE for Change Initiative sponsored by Mr. Nsima Ekere, the Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, however, lashed at fathers of faith in the state for their endorsement of a particular governorship candidate of a political party for 2019 elections.
He saw Dr. Sunday Mbang, former President of the Christian Association of Nigeria and Prelate Emeritus of Methodist Church, Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai of Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Ministries and Arc. Bishop Cletus Bassey, among others as religious conmen.
The Ekere’s campaign chairman described them as jobless scammers and mere businessmen who with pecuniary interest are out to milk the state coffers, condemning the endorsement of Governor Udom Emmanuel for second term in the office as baseless.
He described their action as madness for the Fathers of Faith to rally support for the re-election of the governor, and urged the state indigenes to disregard them.
It would recalled that last week Christian leaders under the auspices of Akwa Ibom Christian Assembly at the end of a programme tagged ‘Dominion Mandate Conference’ announced their resolve to start mobilizing their members and associations to unite in one voice and support the re-election of Governor Udom Emmanuel in 2019.
