    Akwa Ibom APC Crisis Deepens, 17 Caretaker Chairmen Suspended

    Crisis in All Progressives Congress (APC), Akwa Ibom chapter has deepened as the party wielded a big stick against 17 caretaker committee chairmen and two party members in the state.

    The suspended Caretaker Committee Chapter Chairmen include Edidiong J. Idio- Etim Ekpo; Ifiok T. Udoh – Nsit Atai; Bassey Effiong Udo- Uruan; Ubong Ekpo – Ikot Abasi; Ubong Inyang –Ikono; Augustus Amos – Esit Eket and Akaninyene Ukpanah – Ukanafun.

    The rest: Nkereuwem Edet-Nsit Ibom; David Ekanem-lkot Ekpene; Anthony Toby-Oruk Anam; Friday Wilson–Ika; Emmanuel Samuel Akpan-Ibeno and Samuel Mkposoh.

    Others are Effiong Toby Ebieme – Oron; Emmanuel Edoho-Mkpat Enin; Akparawa David Unoh and Joseph Sam -Ibesikpo Asutan.

    The suspended party members are Barr. Imoh Akpan (Ikono) and Barr. Mfon Usoro (Ibiono Ibom).

    This was contained in a press release dated Monday, August 3, and signed by Nkereuwem Enyongekere, the State Publicity Secretary.

    It explained that the action was ”In line with our party Constitution, article 21: I, ii, iv, v, vi, vii & ix, the SWC has with immediate effect suspended the following Caretaker  Chapter Chairmen and two party members for act of gross misconducts and insubordination.”

    The release directed ”All suspended Caretaker Committee Chapter Chairmen listed above are hereby directed to handover all party properties in their custody to the respective Deputy Chairman in the affected LGAs.

    ”On the strength of this statement all Deputy Caretaker Committee Chairmen in the affected LGAs should immediately take over the responsibilities of the party as Acting Chapter Chairmen,’’ it added.
