Akwa Ibom State is among the five states in the country with external and domestic debts’ profile standing at N254 billion, Debt Management Office, BudgetIT Research has stated.
Lagos State has the highest debt profile of N946 billion followed by Rivers State with N295 billion, Kaduna – N278 billion, and Delta – N256 billion.
BudgetIT Nigeria under the title: 2019 Total Debt Stock Taking Ranking tweeted on Tuesday, “Here are the 5 states with the highest Total Debt Profile as at December 2019. Lagos N946billion Rivers N295billion Kaduna N278billion Delta N256billion and Akwa Ibom (N254billion).”

Reacting to the tweet by some Nigerians, Nancin wrote “Hope the debts were for infrastructural development…”
