Akwa Ibom, one of Nigeria’s states, Wednesday, discharged 62 persons who recovered from COVID-19, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has announced.
Similarly, 16 persons who recovered from the pandemic were discharged in Ogun State.
NCDC tweeted on Wednesday, March 31 ‘’Our discharges today include 62 community recoveries in Akwa Ibom and 16 in Ogun State managed in line with guidelines,’’ NCDC stated.
However, Nigeria recorded 129 COVID-19 cases, bringing the total confirmed cases to 162,891.
On the same day, the country recorded one death, bringing the total number to 2,057.
NCDC stated ‘’On the 31st of March 2021, 129 new confirmed cases and 1 death was recorded in Nigeria.
”The 129 new cases are reported from 13 states- Lagos (46), Ondo (19), Nasarawa (14), Kaduna (11), Borno (9), Bauchi (8), Akwa Ibom (5), FCT (5), Jigawa (4), Plateau (3), Bayelsa (2), Osun (2) and Rivers (1).’’
According to the public health agency, ”Till date, 162,891 cases have been confirmed, 151,648 cases have been discharged and 2,057 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
”A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities,’’ NCDC stated.
