    Akwa Ibom Govt Appoints New Ibom Air Chairman

    A new Chairman of Ibom Air has been appointed by Akwa Ibom Government effective Monday, March 22.

    He is Imo-Abasi Jacob who until the appointment was Executive Director in Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation ( AKICORP).

    Jacob succeeds Air Marshall Idongesit Nkanga who passed into eternity in December 2020.

    From Ika Local Government Are of the state, he bagged B.SC (First Class) Management Studies from the University of Calabar and is a holder of Fellow, Chartered Accountant (FCA), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.

    Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem, Secretary to the State Government in a press release dated March 25, 2021 said ”His  Excellency, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, has approved the appointment of Mr. Imo-Abasi Jacob as Chairman of Ibom Air with effect from Monday 22 March, 2021.

    ”Mr. Imo-Abasi Jacob who has many years of experience in the financial services sector, is an Executive Director in Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation ( AKICORP). Until this appointment, he was a member of the Board of Ibom Air.

    ”His Excellency the Governor wishes Mr. Imo-Abasi  Jacob the best in his new role and hopes that he will bring more creativity and innovation to bear on the operations of the airline  as Ibom Air continues to be a star and a reference point for excellence in the Nigerian aviation industry.’’
