The school teacher of the murdered five-year-old Hanifa Abubakar in Kano, was among the first set of people to sympathise with her parents after the abduction, the family source said.

Abdulmalik Mohammed Tanko, the suspect and proprietor of Noble Kids Nursery and Primary school in Kano alongside the accomplice who kidnapped and killed was arrested for the gruesome murder.

Uncle of the girl, Suraj Sulaiman, told Daily Nigerian that Tanko shed tears when he visited Hanifa’s parents to console them over the abduction.

“He was full of tears when he visited the family to console them over the abduction,” said Sulaiman.

    Hanifa’s ransom, death

Recall that the abductors of Hanifa killed her despite collecting ransom.

The police on Thursday, January 14 confirmed that the remains of the five-year-old girl were discovered in a shallow grave on private school premises in Nassarawa Local Government Area, Kano State.

After abducting Hanifa on December 2, 2021, the abductors took her to a hideout and contacted her relatives for N6 million ransom.
