One person from Uyo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State is reported to have been infected with monkey pox, Straightnews has confirmed. An undisclosed source in the state Ministry of Health said the patient is lying critically ill in St. Luke’s Hospital, Anua in Uyo. A total of 55 Nigerians are alleged to have stolen $6.2 billion from the national fund, though their names were not mentioned. Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture, who made this known on Aljazeera, listed the facilities the stolen money could have provided. The Ibom Specialist Hospital in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, has been shut down, just two years after it was built and inaugurated by the administration of former governor Godswill Akpabio. A report culled from Premium Times says the multi-million dollar hospital was shut down in September after its private managers terminated their contract with the state government and withdrew from the facility.
