Massive flooding that swept away 12 communities in Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State has rendered more than 1,000 people homeless and destroyed not less than 3,000 farmlands. Some of the communities affected are Bago, Unu, Bagabo, Bakie, Bufua and Kakwe-Beebo while the flood also destroyed banana, cassava, plantain, yam and cocoa, among others. Two women in Lagos, who allegedly fought over a man for sex are in police detention to answer for acts of misdemeanor while the third suspect escaped. The police at Ikotun Division arrested the duo at a popular joint, Governor’s Road by Landmog Bus Stop in Ikotun area of Lagos State for engaging in a brawl in the public. Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Akwa Ibom State Chapter, weekend, appealed to the state House of Assembly for speedy passage into law the Bill for the Establishment of the State Health-Care Waste Management  Agency (SHCWMA) to reduce the exposure of the people to health hazards.
