The Federal Government, Wednesday, approved N6.17 billion to augment the contract for the construction of Ikot-Ekpene border-Aba-Owerri Road, Section 1, Phase 1. The Super Eagles moved from 46th spot in the world to the 42nd position. In Africa, the Super Eagles maintain its third position on the ladder just behind Senegal and Tunisia respectively. Governor Nyesom Wike has won the March 9 Governorship Election in Rivers State, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared on Wednesday. Wike who ran under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), polled 886,264 votes to defeat his closest rival, Biokpomabo Awara, the governorship candidate of the African Alliance Congress (AAC) scored 173,859 votes. Nigeria is one of the eight countries in the world facing acute hunger, the Global Report on Food Crisis 2019 has indicated. Other countries were Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. One of the key findings of the report showed that nearly two-thirds of those were in just eight countries, the report indicated. The Federal Executive Council, FEC, Wednesday, approved N5.595 billion for the creation 60,000 jobs for youths in the country. The Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma told State House correspondents after the weekly FEC, meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Council Chamber, presidential villa, Abuja.
