Candidates representing 49.98 per cent obtained five credits in English Language and Mathematics in the 2018 West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE, results released by West African Examinations Council, WAEC, Wednesday, in Lagos. The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Calabar generated N3 billion revenue in the first quarter of this year, Maritime News reported. Speaking with our reporter at the weekend, a senior official of the Federal Ministry of Finance (FMoF), who craved anonymity, said the revenue excluded terminal operators’ huge debts to the NPA. The NPA generated more than $3.3 million and N176 million from the Calabar Port within the period, the official reported. Following the inability of the Imo State Government to defray more than N200 million debt, the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC), Tuesday, disconnected power supply to Imo State Government House and the state secretariat. Angered by the disconnection, the state government has commenced moves to demolish the EEDC office in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
