Oil-rich Akwa Ibom State occupies second position in the country by soaring to an all-time high 36.58 per cent unemployment rate for the Q1-3 of this year, National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, has reported. After the prison jailbreak, Nigerian Prisons Service, Akwa Ibom State Command is in a quandary in ascertaining the exact number of inmates who escaped from Ikot Ekpene Prison on Wednesday, StraightNews has discovered. Osun State Governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola Thursday presented an estimate of N173, 980, 83,700 before the state House of Assembly for the 2018 fiscal year. Aregbesola explained that the Appropriation Bill christened ‘Budget of Enduring Legacy,’ is N27,347,336,027 higher than that of 2017 which, according to him, was implemented up to 42.8 per cent despite the paucity of funds. The Nigerian Senate has directed its Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream) to terminate its recess and convene a meeting with stakeholders in the petroleum industry with immediate effect. The directive, which was given by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki on Thursday is in connect with the ongoing fuel scarcity across the country, especially that of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol.
