Outbreak of Lassa Fever involving three persons has been reported in Nasarawa State, the Medical Director of Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Keffi, Joshua Ndom, has said. Passersby were seen heaping curses on an unknown person for abandoning a baby who later died on a dumpsite at Ikoku Junction, Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State, Wednesday. Vanguard observed that multiple checkpoints are mounted by Customs officials at Agbara, Elijah, Mowo, Gbaji, Atinporomeh, Ibereko, Badagry and Sultan Beach, where personnel are seen openly harassing private and commercial drivers. Nigeria has filed a claim of $875 million against JP Morgan Chase, accusing it of negligence in transferring funds from a disputed 2011 oilfield deal to a company controlled by the country’s erstwhile oil minister.
