The House of Representatives on Tuesday changed the order of elections ahead of the 2019 general elections. Early this month, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had released a timetable that the National Assembly and presidential elections are scheduled to hold first. In the revised order by the representatives, presidential election will now come last, as against the current trend of holding the presidential poll first. A total of 31 pieces of 18-seater branded Toyota buses worth millions of naira have been inauguarated and handed over to the 31 chapters of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria. A 28-year-old man, who allegedly bit a man’s lips for wooing his girlfriend, Tuesday, appeared in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court. The accused and an entertainer, Abayomi Odejobi, who resides at 7, Oremeji St., Iju-Ishaga, a suburb of Lagos, is being tried for assault. The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge. The police in Lagos Tuesday arraigned a 32-year-old carpenter, who allegedly entered his Chinese employers’ rooms and stole different currencies. Efuntade Ajibola, the suspect appeared before an Ebute Meta Magistrate’s Court on a three-count charge of stealing $5,000, N1 million, $470 and 300 Renminbi (Chinese currency). The prosecutor, Insp. A 28-year-old technician, who absconded with a customer’s Toyota car meant for repairs at Ladipo market in Mushin area of Lagos, has been arrested by operatives of Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS. Two persons including a hunter were killed by unsuspected herdsmen Sunday night in Obin-Ayama community, Ika North-East and Onitsha-Olona, Aniocha North Local Government Areas, Delta State. An outbreak of a cattle disease known as Contagious Bovine Pleuro Pneumonia, CBPP, has killed 13 cows in Hayin Sheka, Sabuwar Kasa in Kafur and Musawa local government areas of Katsina State over the weekend.
