A 20-year-old man from Florida, United States of America, Friday won the Mega Millions jackpot of $451 million (app. N162 billion). Shane Missler, who won the whooping amount, chose the option of collecting a lump sum of $282 million (app. N101 billion). Missler was paid at once, instead of the original figure ($451m) in annual installments. Despite outrage and protests that greeted the building of new Akwa Ibom Governor’s Lodge in Lagos state last year, Akwa Ibom State government ignored such but went ahead in building the lodge. An Akwa Ibom person and a first-class graduate of Marine Engineering has been killed by unknown gunmen in Rivers State. He was Mfoniso Umoh who graduated from Arab Academy of Maritime Transport, Alexandria in Egypt in March 2017. US President, Donald Trump has cancelled his upcoming visit to the United Kingdom because of a deal to move the American embassy. Frederick Fasehun, President of the Oodua People’s Congress, OPC, has predicted that if President Muhammadu Buhari does not stop herdsmen killing innocent Nigerians now, he would lose the February 2019 presidential elections.
