Nigeria Police Force has nabbed eight suspects over the gruesome murder of six policemen in the Ohoro Forest in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State on February 23. The deceased officers were Inspector Abe Olubunmi (IRT), Inspector Friday Irorere, Sergeant Kuden Elisha, Sergeant Akpan Anietie, Sergeant Ayere Paul, and Sergeant Ejemito Friday. They were said to be ambushed and killed while on a rescue mission. Six other officers are alleged to be missing from the same operation. A date has been fixed by the Federal High Court, Abuja Division to rule on adoption of final addresses on the constitution of Transition Committees in Akwa Ibom State. In the suit by a legal practitioner, Uyoakam Ekerete, as plaintiff, the court fixed Monday, 29 April, 2024 for adoption of addresses. Reuben Baru is one of the eight persons wanted by the Defence Headquarters over their roles in the recent killing of 17 military personnel in Delta State. The children and families of 17 soldiers killed in Okuama community, Delta State got scholarships and houses, courtesy of the Federal Government.
