As police spread dragnet over one Gift Okpolowu, popularly known as 2Baba, Rivers State Government has declared him wanted over the gruesome murder of SP Bako Angbashim, the Ahoada Divisional Police Officer (DPO). Eight persons and seven still missing in canoe mishap in Yola South Local Government Area, the Adamawa State confirmed on Saturday. A canoe carrying 23 passengers had capsized in Njuwa Lake at Rugange, a village in the Yola South LGA, early on Friday, with the government confirming one dead as search operations continued. Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) said it would deploy the same energy used for its two-day warning strike to implement an indefinite strike if the federal government fails to address its demands. Suspected bandits were said to have killed 16 out of 83 abducted health workers within eight years in Katsina State. Comrade Mannir Mohammed Suleiman, the state Chairman Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, stated this at a dinner organised in honour of Dr Shamsuddeen Yahaya for his reappointment as the Executive Secretary of the state Primary Health Care Agency in Katsina on Wednesday.
