No fewer than 430 youths have been trained in different skills to be self-reliant by the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs. The beneficiaries from the nine states of Niger Delta Region were trained on such skills as sewing, fish farming, poultry farming and other agricultural means in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital. The remains of a female staffer of NTA Channel 5, Abuja killed by a Kaduna-bound train Thursday morning at the Chikakore axis of Kubwa in Abuja have been buried. The deceased, Selimota Suleiman who was on her way to the office was crushed by the train, management of Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) said. Until her death, Suleiman was a principal accountant with the Finance Department of the authority. A Kano State Upper Sharia Court on Thursday sentenced an Islamic cleric, Abduljabbar Kabara, to death by hanging after he was found guilty of a four-count charge of blasphemy. Mr Kabara, who is the son of the late Nasiru Kabara, a leader of the Qadariyya Islamic Movement in West Africa, was arrested at his home in Kano and arraigned on July 16, 2021, before an Upper Sharia Court at ‘Kofar Kudu’, Emir’s palace.
