Ex-Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo has advocated replacement of Western liberal democracy with ‘Afro’ Democracy for African countries because the system of government is not working in Africa. Obasanjo noted that the Western liberal democracy has not worked because it was “forced” on the continent and does not take into account the views of majority of the people. The Court of Appeal in Abuja, Friday, sent jitters down the spine of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Nigeria’s Kano State by nullifying his election. In its judgment on Friday, the Appellate Court agreed with the judgment of the tribunal that fielding of Abba Yusuf was in breach of the Electoral Law as he was not qualified to contest that election. A pastor with the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), David Musa, has been killed by his abductors after payment of N1,000,000 ransom in Kogi State.
