Eight persons and seven still missing in canoe mishap in Yola South Local Government Area, the Adamawa State confirmed on Saturday. A canoe carrying 23 passengers had capsized in Njuwa Lake at Rugange, a village in the Yola South LGA, early on Friday, with the government confirming one dead as search operations continued. Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) said it would deploy the same energy used for its two-day warning strike to implement an indefinite strike if the federal government fails to address its demands. Suspected bandits were said to have killed 16 out of 83 abducted health workers within eight years in Katsina State.
