Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has rolled out seven new laws to provide regulatory environment to achieving efficiency, predictability, clarity and effectiveness in the country’s oil and gas industry. This brings to 12 the number of regulations so far issued by the Commission in line with its mandate as prescribed in the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), 2021. The Commission’s Chief Executive, Engr. A father of three deceased children has begged police in Lagos State to grant him permission to convey their corpses home for burial in his hometown in Ebonyi State. The Central Bank of Nigeria has revoked the operating licences of 132 microfinance banks, four primary mortgage banks, and three finance companies in the country. The revocation exercise was stated in the official gazette of the Federal Government published on the website of the CBN on Tuesday. The licences of the financial institutions, according to the gazette, were revoked because they ceased to carry on in Nigeria, the type of business for which their licences were issued for a continuous period of six months.
