COVID-19 infections keep on rising as Nigeria Centre for Disease Control confirmed more cases on Thursday, December 31. Nigeria’s debt stock rose to N32.223 trillion in the third quarter in September 2020, according to Debt Management Office’s report released on Thursday. A debt data released by DMO shows that Nigeria’s debt stock which is made up of the Domestic and External Debt Stocks of the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN). The 36 State Governments and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) grew by N1.214 trillion from June to September 2020, the report stated. Nigerians have been asked to report cases of extortion of National Identification Number (NIN) applicants for diligent prosecution to serve as a deterrent to others. Announcing this in Twitter on Thursday, National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) warned that those extorting NIN applicants risk a seven-year jail term.
