Lagos State peaks the chart of nine states as Nigeria recorded 152 COVID-19 infections, according to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control. Brazil’s health regulator said Monday it has suspended clinical trials of an experimental Chinese COVID-19 vaccine after an “adverse incident” involving one of the volunteers. The setback for CoronaVac, developed by Chinese pharmaceutical firm Sinovac Biotech, came on the same day US pharmaceutical giant Pfizer said its vaccine candidate had shown 90 percent effectiveness, raising hopes of an end to the pandemic. Veteran Palestinian peace negotiator Saeb Erekat has died, weeks after contracting Coronavirus, it has been confirmed. Aged 65, Dr Erekat was Palestine’s chief negotiator and international spokesman for more than three decades.
