The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed the arrest of popular crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, commonly known as Bobrisky for involvement in the abuse of the nation’s currency, the Naira. The anti-graft agency said Bobrisky was apprehended at Pinnock Estate in Lagos State on April 3, 2024, around 3 p.m. Dele Oyewale, the spokesperson for the EFCC revealed this while confirming the arrest and detention of Bobrisky on Thursday morning. A Chief Magistrate Court in Wuse Zone 2, Abuja has summoned five social media users for “criminal defamation” of the reputation of gospel music singer, Mercy Chinwo and her husband, Blessed Uzochikwa over the paternity of their son. The five defendants are Okoronkwo Ejike, Kingsley Ibeh, DJ Spoiltkid, Terrence Ekot, and Samuel Agozie. Popular gospel music minister, Nathaniel Bassey, has prayed the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to arrest and prosecute his defamers over allegations that he fathered Mercy Chinwo’s son. Bassey urged the IGP to investigate and prosecute four persons whom he accused of criminal defamation and cyberstalking. Cross River State Governor is topping 12 new others in Nigeria for borrowing a staggering N226.8 billion from domestic and external financiers in the first six months after assuming office, Debt Management Office said. Findings showed that 16 state governors also increased the debt profile of their states by N509.3 billion with domestic and external debt of N243.95 billion and $298.5 million (N265.37 billion), respectively.
