No fewer than 10 deaths have been recorded in Nigeria from the novel coronavirus which has spread to 19 states in the country. The Nigeria Control for Disease Control, which made this known on Saturday, also said 13 new confirmed cases were recorded in the country. Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, Friday, confirmed 17 new COVID-19 cases. The World Health Organisation (WHO) says coronavirus infection is growing “exponentially’’ in Africa and continues to spread. The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the continent has risen to more than 10 000 and caused more than 500 deaths.
