Nigerians have described President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Nasarawa State as an act of insensitivity to the lives lost in Benue and Taraba states as a result of the clash between farmers and the Fulani herdsmen.
The President arrived at Lafia, the state capital Tuesday morning and was received by the state governor, Mr Tanko Al-Makura.
A Nigerian on social media with username Beremx, observed that Benue and Taraba states are not far from Nasarawa state, and advised the president to also visit the states to condole with families that have lost their loved ones to the clashes.
“Nassarawa is not far from Benue and Taraba. Visiting the states to condole with them over the Fulani killings won’t harm him. He won’t just go! So heartless!” she noted.
Another Nigerian with username Yanabasee, accused the president of being self-centered.
He said “we’ve always wished Buhari will for ones play the nice guy but he’s never a gentleman. He doesn’t have a common man’s interest in his heart. He’s concerned about his political wills and interest.”
Another, Rayblast opined “finally, Buhari paid condolence visit to cattles. so it is true that Fulani people value cattle life more than human life”.
“This action of his is really disturbing. This shows that he is less concerned about state of things between the herdmen and farmers. Irresponsible government indeed,” observed Julivas.
Sunnewsonline reports that the president has already inspected a Guard of Honour mounted in his honour and willl later visit the Emir of Lafia, and commissioned some projects.
