Following the resignation of Michael Emenalo from the club, Chelsea are considering the possibility to replace him with Didier Drogba at Stamford Bridge.
Michael Emenalo, former Super Eagles defender recently resigned his appointment as Technical Director of the Premier League champions. The Telegraph reported that Emenalo’s departure could pave the way for Abramovich to bring again Drogba.
Hull City manager, Leonid Slutsky may be offered a job at Chelsea in case he is dismissed from the post of head coach of his club.
Drogba scored more than 150 goals across two different spells at Chelsea and is currently a player-owner at American club Phoenix Rising.
However, there are reports that French Ligue 1 moneybags Monaco are interested in the services of Emenalo, who had cited family reasons for his resignation.
“After 10 years here, 10 wonderful, successful years, but very demanding years, it is a very tough decision to decide to step aside”, Emenalo said.
“It is entirely my decision and it has come about for very simple reasons. I need an opportunity to get to see my young kids grow and also to step back and reflect on the work that I have done here and the things that we have been able to accomplish together in this great club.
“It is something I have been thinking about for quite some time now and it is something I have discussed with my family and they understand the reasons and the timing for wanting to step aside.”
