Today is judgement Day in Nigeria’s Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital.
It is a day the Federal High Court, Uyo will give ruling on the case by Mr. Akan Okon, a former Commissioner for Economic Development and Ibaka Deep seaport and Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, the PDP governorship aspirant in May 2022 party primary.
Mr. Okon, the plaintiff is challenging the 1981 and 1983 WAEC certificates, as well as the birth certificate and INEC voter card of Eno, the PDP governorship candidate for 2023 elections, being the defendant.

Counsel of both parties had on October 14, 2022 adopted their final written addresses.
Though before adjournment, the court had fixed November 28 as judgement day, the change in date may be due to the inauguration of constituted a special task force of judges to swiftly hear and determine all pre-election cases before it.
The anticipated judgement will be delivered this morning by the trial judge, Justice Agatha Okeke.
Also in the same Court is the judgement that will determine who between Obong Akan Udofia and Senator Ita Eno is the governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) and will fly the party’s flag in the next year’s elections
As expected, the Courtroom is filled with Counsel and supporters of parties awaiting the arrival of the Judge.
