A social media critic and commentator says he is scared of Nigeria being turned to blood-soaked and war-torn country.

This may not be unconnected with Federal Government’s suspension of plan to establish Ruga settlement in various parts of the country coupled with threat by Coalition of Northern groups ordering the government to resume the plan or be ready to face the consequence.

Femi Fani-Fayode, a one-time Minister of Aviation writing in his Twitter handle on Wednesday, stated, “I cannot bear the thought of Nigeria being turned into blood-soaked, war-time and war-torn Syria, Libya, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia, Yugoslavia or Lebanon in their darkest days.

“Each of those beautiful countries were destroyed and decimated by civil war and they never recovered.”

Fani-Kayode observed that “The display of cowardice and weakness attracts aggression whilst the display of courage and strength deters it. If you want peace you must prepare for war. If you want war tremble, bow and quiver before your oppressors and they will oblige you by crushing you and all that is yours.”

According to him, “Lt. General T.Y. Danjuma (rtd.), Prof. Wole Soyinka and the Ooni of Ife have said that we should defend our ancestral lands against the foreign land-grabbers, marauders and terrorists. I am proud of each of them for speaking out and boldly taking a stand.”

He, therefore, advised “The rest is left for us.”
