Senator Ita Enang, Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly Matters (Senate) has assured the people of Akwa Ibom State that the President has approved the completion of an abandoned bridge project at Okopedi, Itu local government area of the state.
Enang disclosed this while addressing the people of Okopedi, Itu on Monday on the need to vote for President Buhari during the general elections coming up on Saturday.
He also said that the Federal Government has awarded a 40x60x233 MVA Power generating Station to an indigenous contractor who would soon be mobilised to site at Ididep in Ibiono Ibom LGA.
The presidential aide said that the power station would cover Ibiono Ibom, Itu and Ini Local Government Areas of the State and Arochukwu in Abia.
“The Presidential Flag bearer of the APC, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a tripartite projects; Completion of abandoned bridge project at Okopedi Itu , a 2nos 40x60x233 MVA power station at Ididep in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area and a Police Area Command with a Training School at Akpayat in Itu Local Government Area.
“The contract time has elapsed but President Buhari has reversed everything under the leadership of the Minister of Works, Mr Fashola and the ministry’s team has been here,” Enang said.
Enang noted that the bridge project was awarded to Messrs. Bulatin (Nig) Ltd between 2011 and 2014, stressing that the same contractor would execute the abandoned bridge project.
The presidential aide said that the bridge when completed would enhance economic activities and commuters to other parts of the country.
Enang urged Akwa Ibom people to vote President Muhammadu Buhari and all APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
