For the first time since the outbreak of COVID-19 in Nigeria, Gombe State has recorded an all-time high 54 new infections, thus topping Lagos State as new epicentre in the pandemic.
In a report via its Twitter handle Saturday night, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said that Nigeria has recorded 162 new cases from 14 states in the country.
NCDC tweeted that FCT registers 35, Lagos (26), Ogun (12), Plateau (10), Rivers (10), Kaduna (4), Ekiti (3), Edo (2), Osun (2), Bayelsa (1), Imo (1), Ondo (1), and Oyo (1).
Overall, the country has 62,853 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 58,675 discharged while deaths stand at 1,144.
“A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities,” it said.
