The 2018 Akwa Ibom Appropriation Bill passed last Wednesday by the state House of Assembly into Law has become an Act.
This follows assent to the 2018 bill totaling N646.6 billion by Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State on Monday at the State Executive Council Chamber, Government House, Uyo.

The amount is against the N651billion which the governor had earlier proposed to the State House of Assembly.
A break-down of the budget shows that N431billion is for capital expenditure, N94.6 billion for Recurrent Expenditure while Consolidated Revenue funds charges stands at N120.8billion.
Emmanuel thanked the House of Assembly and particularly the Committee on Finance and Appropriation chaired by Mr.Usoro Akpanusoh for the robust deliberations which resulted in the speedy passage of the 2018 Appropriation Bill.
“I assure the people of Akwa Ibom State that my administration will ensure the full implementation of the budget for their benefit,” Emmanuel said.
Present at the occasion were members of the sixth Assembly led by the Speaker, Mr. Onofiok Luke and members of the State Executive Council.
